Am I Saved ?
This is a question many people have "Am I Saved". Have I been good enough to
be saved and live the promised glorious eternal life or will I burn in Hell for ever and ever. Do you
wonder when you see other people that seem to be nicer, more compassionate with others, donate time and resources
to good causes and attend Church on a regular basis, will they be saved and not me? Can we do any Good Works that
will be enough to receive the reward of eternal life? What does the Bible say about this.
1 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come
down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, 2 As when the
melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine
adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! 3 When thou didst
terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy
presence. 4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor
perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him
that waiteth for him. 5 Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh
righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned:
in those is continuance, and we shall be saved. 6 But
we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy
rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us
away. 7 And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up
himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our
iniquities. 8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father;
we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
In other words, we cannot do anything ourselves to be
saved other than believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins. The penalty of sin is
death. Jesus led a sinless life, and if we believe that Jesus died for all our sins and we ask him to
forgive us our sins, then we will be saved.
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by
the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man
stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is
become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt
believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the
heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the
scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between
the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the
power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also we all
had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;
and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great
love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus: 7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man
should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying,
If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. 40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou
fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due
reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
Notice that one of the thieves (malefactors) on the cross acknowledged Christ
as the Son of God. Jesus then said to that thief; today shalt thou be with me in paradise (because he
1 And I saw a new heaven and a
new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God
is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be
their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for
these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the
beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers,
and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven
vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the
Lamb’s wife. 10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that
great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her
light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And had a wall
great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the
names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three
gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve
foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he that talked with me had
a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof. 16 And the city lieth
foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand
furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. 17 And he measured the wall
thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The
first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth,
a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 And the twelve gates were twelve
pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent
glass. 22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did
lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. 24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in
the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. 25 And the gates of
it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. 26 And they shall bring the glory
and honour of the nations into it. 27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth,
neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of
Hell and Death
Many people try to scare us into religion by saying that if you do not attend
Church or do good deeds you will burn in Hell for ever and ever. God is completely Just and Good and would not
want his new inhabitants of Heaven worrying about their loved ones who may be burning in Hell. The Bible
states that the penalty of sin is death not eternal burning. Think of Death as a deep sleep the we have all
experienced at one time or another (Very restful).
It also states in the bible that Sodom and Gomorrah would burn eternally.
Sodom and Gomorrah are not burning today because they were consumed by the fire and brimstone from heaven. The
results are eternal. If you light a campfire the flame goes out after the wood is consumed by the
1 Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that
are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called: 2 Mercy unto you, and
peace, and love, be multiplied.
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common
salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith
which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before
of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying
the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once
knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that
believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath
reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves
over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of
eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak
evil of dignities.
